Orrickhas an exciting opening for aContent Specialist (Pitch Team)who is ready to be challenged and build a career within an AmLaw Top 100 law firm. This position can sit in our Global Operations & Innovation Center (GOIC) in Wheeling WVor any of our US Offices.
In this role, you will provide direct support to our Marketing team members and lawyers in the execution of client-focused opportunity responses for the Tech & Innovation/Corporate practices, primarily, and across assorted practice areas, as needed. Additional key responsibilities will include independent creation and ownership of strategic firm content and practice content management and updates in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications teams. As a member of the Pitch Team and at the direction of the Pitch Team leader, you will play a dynamic role in supporting the firm's, department's and team's objectives and strategies.
What responsibilities will you have?
In collaboration with lawyers and staff, you will lead pitch, proposal and RFP response drafting and coordination
You will regularly analyze and review practice marketing collateral to ensure effective and consistent messaging on the practice/industry/geography and firmwide levels
Collaborating with a wide team of contributors, you will lead superior maintenance and organization of marketing materials within the department's materials library
You will manage comprehensive review of opportunity data for assigned pitches, proposals and RFPs, including outreach to partners for opportunity outcomes
You will regularly review current experience related to assigned practices areas, ensuring its inclusion in core materials
You will participate in pitch debrief sessions to identify areas of strength and areas for improvement across content and process
Additional team initiative and special project participation will be assigned to you at discretion of team leader.
Job Requirements:
Four-year degree in Communications, English or other related discipline preferred or equivalent work experience.
Strong writing skills, with the ability to craft a compelling corporate story within a sales context. Three to five years of prior law firm or professional services firm writing experience preferred.
Extraordinary attention to detail and proofreading skills. Applicants will be required to provide writing samples.
Advanced ability to analyze large amount of information and data for key takeaways and crafting of messaging points.
Technology sector knowledge a plus.
Excellent word-processing computer and Internet skills necessary; high proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel as well as SharePoint.
Ability to become proficient in the use of the following marketing systems and tools: Orrick's Biography Tool, ServiceNow Project Management Platform; Orrick's Portal; and other relevant firm systems.
Strong project management skills, including independent discernment and decision-making with strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to gain agreement and to build positive relationships within the firm through quality work and through leadership.
Extraordinary ability to adapt to changing list of priorities and excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Highly productive, flexible and can handle stress with the ability to effectively balance projects and prioritize tasks.
