Job Description
Mott MacDonald is currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic entry-level Electrical Engineer interested in transportation infrastructure projects in a dynamic work environment based on the West Coast in Seattle, Washington. This position would be attractive for graduate/junior engineers looking for a diverse career in transit electrification works.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
Participation in the planning and design of rail projects with a focus on the electrification systems.
Assisting project managers and engineers with preparing technical reports, drawings/models, specifications, and calculations.
Working on projects of increasing difficulty, with work being reviewed by a supervisor(s).
Independently evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques in making adaptations and modifications.
Compiling and computing a variety of engineering data including simulations.
Provide support to project management and project control tasks.
Conducts site visits for the purposes of observing and documenting observations.
Gathering and maintaining specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.
Attending meetings with Clients and Contractors, together with senior team members.
Coordinating with other engineering disciplines.
Candidate Specification

You should be able to demonstrate your interest in electrical engineering through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules or previous work experience (internships or full-time professional work).
We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:
B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
EIT preferred
Strong desire and motivation for obtaining PE License
Experience in MATLAB is desirable
0-3 years' experience in engineering, preferably with an interest or prior work experience in transportation engineering
Involvement with professional organization(s), preferred
Experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members
Methodical approach to problem solving
Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently
Adaptable and flexible to working on multiple assignments and with different team members
