We're proud to partner with Adna School District to provide high-quality substitutes for their schools. Enjoy the freedom of flexible scheduling and create a work schedule that perfectly fits your life. In addition, we partner with several districts in Lewis County as well as a few select districts in Mason, Thurston, and Grays Harbor counties. Your one application will allow you to work in up to 5 different school districts of your choice. Please note that qualifications and pay rates may differ from school district to school district.
Minimum requirements:
- WSP/FBI Clearance
- Substitute Teacher – WA Teaching or Substitute Certificate, or willingness to obtain Emergency Substitute Certificate with TOC’s guidance
- Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language fluently and effectively
- No experience necessary; we provide training! Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply.
Substitute Teacher Responsibilities:
Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies. This includes:
- Leading instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher’s existing lesson plans
- Teaching students on a variety of classroom topics/courses
- Building positive relationships
- Assigning reasonable tasks and homework
- Empower students to learn, and encourage classroom participation
- Create a classroom environment that’s conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
- Adapt to the various learning styles of students
- For long-term assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as create, administer, and grade tests and assignments
Pay information: Rates vary by district. Teachers are generally paid a daily rate while all other positions are paid hourly, unless otherwise noted. TOC pays weekly and you will receive your approved compensation the following Friday of the week you have worked.
