Position Summary
An LCPO is an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team responsible for delivering comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic care across the continuum of treatment. The LCPO provides advanced clinical assessment, design, fabrication oversight, fitting and outcome management for patients experiencing neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, congenital, traumatic, or disease-related impairments affecting the spine, skull, and upper and lower extremities.
This role combines clinical expertise, biomechanical analysis, and technical proficiency to optimize patient mobility, function, independence, and quality of life while maintaining the highest standards of safety, medical efficacy, and ethical care.
Core competencies:
Thorough understanding of the principles of biomechanics, Patho mechanics, gait analysis, kinesiology, anatomy and physiology
Ability to instruct clinical and non-clinical personnel and customers on objectives of patient care services
Ability to assess patient conditions and advise physicians on treatment options
Good interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships with physicians, therapists and patients
Continuously innovate new solutions, influencing and responding to change.
Essential Functions
-Patient evaluation and Clinical Assessment:
o Perform comprehensive biomechanical and functional evaluations to determine patient candidacy for orthotic and prosthetic intervention. This may include assessing anatomical/physiological presentation, gait mechanics, functional deficits, and medical history to establish evidence-based treatment plans.
-Measurement, Casting and Fabrication Oversight
o Perform precision casting, scanning and measurement procedures. Collaborate with O&P techs/specialists for optimal modification outcomes to achieve biomechanical alignment and quality standards.
-Device Design and Treatment Planning
o Formulate and implement orthotic and prosthetic treatment plans aligned with physician prescriptions and biomechanical principles and current industry technologies.
-Fitting, Alignment and Outcome Optimization
o Perform initial fittings, static and dynamic alignments, and functional assessments to evaluate device performance and ensure patient satisfaction and success. Provide families with patient and caregiver education regarding device use, care, and expectations.
-Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Education
o Maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, therapists, and allied health professionals through in-services and clinical consultations.
-Operational and Professional Responsibilities
o Complete accurate and compliant clinical documentation consistent with regulatory and reimbursement standards while ensuring appropriate coding and adherence to payer requirements.
-Development
o Promote clinical growth and operational efficiencies through mentorship, professional education, emerging technologies, and evidence-based practices.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics
Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC)
The ability to obtain and maintain state licensure and/or current Washington State Licensure in both Orthotics and Prosthetics
Minimum three (3) years of recent experience as a CPO
Minimum two (2) years of experience in pediatrics

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $47.76 - $72.39 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
