Adult program

Target population

The Adult Program serves people who are 18 years and older, are legally entitled to work in the United States and have met selective service registration requirements.

Program description & services

The purpose of the Adult Program is to increase the employment retention, earnings, and occupational skills of participants. Priority is given to recipients of public assistance, other low income individuals, veterans, and individuals who are basic skills deficient.

The program provides a range of career services, training services and job placement assistance. Employers are also offered assistance in accessing a qualified labor pool and other employment related services.

Goals

The goal of the WIOA program is to improve the quality of the workforce, reduce welfare dependency, increase economic self-sufficiency, meet skills requirements of employers, and enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the Nation.
