We are looking for Data Center Technicians who are experienced and ready to step in and do the job. This would be during the day shift and include swing shift work. If you have a strong work ethic, extensive knowledge of PON fiber networks, and the ability to trouble shoot problems, we are looking for you.
The Sr. Data Center Technician is required to take excellent care of our customers, build relationships, question things and take action, work hard, work smart, and enjoy the experience.The ideal candidate will be an excellent team player, have the ability to follow instruction, and the willingness to learn & grow within KGPCo.
SUMMARY
Act as knowledge base and resource to help guide Data Center Technicians with complex system builds and troubleshooting. Act as shift lead to ensure the daily workload is completed. Conduct training for Data Center Technicians to ensure competency in all areas of responsibility within the Data Center and associated software and systems. Interact with Network Engineering teams across the enterprise to ensure projects are delivered as designed. Work with and oversee various hardware vendors for installation services. Rack/stack/patch and ground network switches and servers and provide project coordination. Deploy servers, routers and network equipment in a production data center environment. Prepare, deploy and test fiber and copper cabling for infrastructure builds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in network systems. Areas include: Ethernet switches, routers, firewalls, TAPS, servers.
Input maintain and update DC Infrastructure in multiple DCIM and Asset Management software programs.
Tracking and trending operational characteristics. Interact with purchasing, telecom, datacom, and other I.T. personnel to coordinate equipment installation, repairs, and improvements.
Assist project teams with delivery of complex installations, this will include determining the best location as well as ensure proper redundant connections and documentation.
Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by operations management as needed.
Intake -Interface with customers, prioritize jobs.
Planning of space and power.
SME of customer systems.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and QUALIFICATIONS
Physicallyplacing, removing, or modifying non-working equipment
Cable traysand/or racking
Data Equipmentcabinets and frames
Data Servers, Switches, Routers, Repeaters, Bridges, Gateways, Multiplexers,Transceivers, Firewalls
Fuse Panels
Able to manage team members
Physicallyrouting the cables that supply AC and/or DC power or transmit data in various technical spaces
Identify, label, and terminate cables that supply AC and/or DC power or transmit data
Conduct test and document performance characteristics of hardware and software
Resolveequipment / technical issues
Review,analyze, and interpret work orders, drawings, records, and manuals
Perform qualityvalidation on in-process and completed work
Interact withall members of the organization; Installation, Engineering and ProjectManagement

High school diploma or equivalent, technical or college degree preferred
Four years of experience
Proficient in use of Microsoft programs and applications

Must be able to demonstrate valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Must be able to provide proof of insurance.
