A great local company is looking to fill two seasonal Marine Service Ambassador (MSA) positions in their Marine Services department.
General Job Description:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of customer service-related duties on ferry docks including, but not limited to: Ensuring that vessels do not exceed maximum passenger capacity, communicating with other ferries’ passenger only vessel crews and dispatchers, answering questions regarding ferry services and policies, and assist passengers with boarding vessel. This position also ensures follow-up is conducted and the supervisor is notified when necessary.
Hourly Rate: $26.33 per hour
Hours per Week: 30-40 Hours of Work and Location:
MSA’s work split shifts Monday-Friday (M-F) and possibly one shift on Saturday. The hours are generally between 4:00-8:30 a.m. and 2:00-6:30 p.m. M-F. All MSA’s will be scheduled at either our Bremerton or Kingston location. All applicants must have reliable transportation to get to the Bremerton and Kingston locations.
Applicant must be able to work all hours between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. M-F and various shifts between 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. Applicant must be able to work split shifts. Schedule may vary from day to day with short notice. MSA’s work independently and play a critical role in operations, therefore, it is essential that all MSA’s show up for every scheduled shift, as well as arrive on time in all types of weather, including snow.
The Seasonal MSA’s selected for this position, as of now, are expected to work 30- 40 hours/week. The number of hours assigned can change based on the needs of the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be able to carry items weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to walk and/or stand for two hours at a time.
- Must be able to work outside in all weather.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.

Primary Responsibilities: Assist with passenger count to ensure the vessel does not exceed passenger capacity. Keep an accurate count of bikes, scooters, and wheelchairs to ensure vessel does not exceed bike/scooter/wheelchair capacity. Advise customers regarding marine services policies and special services. Assist passengers in staging, boarding, and departing the ferry. Initial intake of customer complaints or commendations. Responding to public inquiries. Follow safety and security procedures in accordance with policies. Periodically surveying passengers for comments and suggestions and preparing related reports as needed.
