Ultra-High Vacuum Machinist
JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is responsible for ensuring that company products meet customers' machining standards and specifications. Generally, the person in this position works with basic prints and some geometrics/tolerancing, has a high skill level and setup experience, and the capacity to operate most machines with little direct supervision.
The Ultra-High Vacuum (UHV) Machinist likes to work independently at times, as well as with other team members at times, using high-level skills and expertise to make quality parts on time.
Success in this role requires technical expertise, creativity, problem-solving, leadership skills, and the ability to think outside the box.

DUTIES
- Documentation preparation is required.
- Direct conduction machining of UHV products.
- Verify dimensions to blueprint using basic measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, and height gauge) and calculation tools to reach specifications.
- Basic setup on lathes and mills machines, determine and perform machining math.
- Verify dimensions and interpret GD&T of blueprint using advanced measuring instruments: micrometers, dial bore gauge, and calculation tools (scientific calculator) to reach specifications.
- Work with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, and Sales to determine proper sequencing, procedures, and priorities.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally when necessary.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Able to read, understand, and follow instructions accurately.
- Knows how to operate machine shop equipment safely.
- Able to test and verify conformance to standards using specific testing equipment and visual examination.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to High School graduation would provide the required knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the assigned job duties successfully.
There is a prerequisite of 36 months of general machine operation experience and 12 months of machine operations for stainless-steel components. Must have:

- Ability to work with minimal direction to complete assignments on time
