DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for testing, inspecting and properly repairing electrical components of locomotive systems, equipment and machinery. This position is in the greater Seattle area and is mobile, requiring troubleshooting skills.
LOCOMOTIVE SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
Test,maintain, and repairlocomotive alternators, generators and motors, including AC and DC power control systems, main and auxiliary electrical cabinets, lighting, batteries, and wiring/conduit
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
Inspect, adjust, troubleshoot and repairelectricalcomponents of various shop machinery and equipment, such as drop tables, may include some welding, mechanical, and electro-magnetic equipment, perform preventative maintenance on a variety ofequipment, and machinery to ensure proper function.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
At least 18 years of age, or will be by the anticipated start date listed above
Ability to report for duty at the designated work location
Able to work safely in the above working conditions
Able toworkthe above shift/hours
Abilityto read, write and communicate (speak, hear and understand) in English
Abilityto lift and carry up to 50lbswithout assistance
Abilityto visually distinguish colors - red, blue, green, yellow and lunar (clear light)
Ability to discriminate and differentiate between verbal and non-verbal sounds (signals, alarms, etc.) in the work environment
Ability to use handsanduse hand toolsto perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling
Ability toclimb ladders; get on/off equipment
Ability tobend, walk,stand andsitoccasionally with breaks
Abilitytooccasionallywork at various heights above the ground, including working on top of a locomotive
Ability to complete PTC qualification.
