Purpose
The Product Designer is responsible for the user experience when interacting with a Volpara product or service. They are involved in all stages of digital product design, from discovery to a live product and beyond. Collaboration and clear communication with staff across the company is vital to the success of this role.
Responsibilities
- Execute the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design process, using Figma as your primary design tool.
- Design the user experience using a strong knowledge of human-centered design practices. Includes information flow, interaction model and the user interface.
- Facilitate creative workshops with internal clients to inform product decisions.
- Create design deliverables including conceptual diagrams, mockups, prototypes, user flows, interaction flows, storyboards, and page/screen wireframes.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, other designers, engineers, testers, and marketing to ensure a seamless product experience.
- Conduct user research including usability testing, heuristic evaluation and/or other techniques, doing so in-person at customer sites or trade shows as practicable. Feedback is then translated into actionable design solutions.
- Monitor evolving UX and UI trends and adopt best practice user interface models and design.
- Share and iterate design work by seeking and providing feedback to other designers and engineers.
- Build relationships, guide, influence and liaise confidently with stakeholders.
- Solve problems proactively and select the most appropriate method or technique.
- Contribute improvements to the Volpara Design System to Volpara’s UX and UI design processes.

Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or related tertiary qualification
- 3+ years’ experience in product design or equivalent experience in a B2B environment.
- Healthcare industry and/or experience with mammography products or clinics preferred but not required.
- Uses industry knowledge to predict future challenges for the product(s)
- Proven ability to work independently, deliver and work on multiple projects concurrently.
- Possesses a combination of technical aptitude, commercial, and product management skills, communication, negotiation and decision-making ability.
- Experience in presenting and communicating with stakeholders to maximize product sales and revenue.
- Uses relationships across the business and industry to drive product development and growth.
- Uses a consultative approach to build consensus both internally and externally.
- Ability to work with teams in different time zones and diverse geographic locations.
- Experience working at a strategic level (identify the most useful solution) and a detailed level (design the solution).
- Design Thinking experience.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and trade shows.
- Proof of COVID 19 vaccination required, except in limited circumstances where a legally recognized medical or religious exemption may be able to be accommodated.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $120,000 – 130,000 per year. Benefits include the option to participate in medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances; a 401K plan with a company match; and generous paid time off.
