JOB SUMMARY:
Weigh and blend wool lots according to the Mixing Schedule and operate the Pneumatic Conveyor System, including cleaning.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Weigh-up wool lots based on the yarn production order
Operate Pneumatic Conveyor Blending System
Operate Baler
Operate forklift
Unload Stock Truck
Load Stock bales on a truck to Pendleton
Clean Pneumatic Conveyor System
Operate waste baler and bale waste as needed
Manage stock dye and raw stock inventories
Keep the work area clean and organized
Prepare water and oil tanks for Auto-Mist
Operate Auto-Mist system
Retrieve and open bales of wool
Perform all duties under safety rules and regulations
Seek opportunities to improve safety and quality in your manufacturing process
Perform other duties as assigned
Willingness to cross-train in various sections of Yarn production to adapt efficiently to changing needs.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Follow verbal and written instructions
Possess basic math skills
Ability to read and write legibly in English
Seek opportunities to improve personal understanding and capabilities
Self-motivated and ability to multitask
Effectively communicate with other mixing operators, shift supervisor, and Department Manager
Ability to maintain a valid Forklift Certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Stand, walk, twist, and crouch on concrete as needed during the entire shift (breaks and meals excluded).
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds on occasion. Employees are never expected to lift any loads if doing so is unsafe or too high a risk.
Push and pull wheeled carts containing products weighing up to 200 pounds short distances.
Ability to safely run a hand truck to move bales of wool up to 450 pounds.
Capable of climbing ladder of baler and freestanding ladder for cleaning
Capable of handling band cutters and wire cutter tools
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
High School Diploma/GED
Two or more years of production experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Production Mill with exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals, requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment

Eight (8)-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime on Saturday.
