The Providence Swedish North Division encompasses the Providence & Swedish family of care delivery efforts across our integrated delivery networks in western Washington and Alaska. This includes more than a dozen hospitals, nearly 2,000 Medical Group physicians, 27,000 caregivers, and ~$5.5B in annual revenue. Fundamental to our mission is a special concern for serving the poor and vulnerable, and as such, our division provided more than $600M of community benefit in 2023.
Our division's strategic intent of "Extraordinary Care for All" understands our unique role in promoting community health. The North Division Strategy & Business Development team works with an interdisciplinary group of stakeholders to help our division live into that intent. We are focused on building out areas of strategic focus and developing execution plans to drive Extraordinary Care for All forward. We are currently promoting clinician growth, value-based care, service line excellence, and acute campus efficiencies that bring benefit to our communities and financial sustainability to our enterprise.
The North Division Strategy & Business Development team seeks a leader who will inform strategic direction and decision-making, through insights into our markets gained from sophisticated analysis. This person will be expected to interpret complex market data and other information to identify key trends and inform our priorities.
The leader is responsible for shepherding this work forward personally and through leading a team of senior strategy consultants. The leader will also work closely with Providence's Analytics Center of Excellence to inform development and maintenance of our data assets at a system level to support strategic growth.
This leader and their team will also be responsible for ensuring that the processes for strategic growth are well-organized, communicated, and implemented successfully. This includes implementation reporting, to ensure the Division is tracking successful against our strategic plan.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide critical decision support to business questions that advance most important Division strategies:
Drive analysis of assigned projects and initiatives, including developing work plans
Execute structured, hypothesis-driven problem solving
Build both financial and operational models to drive towards answers
Work effectively with qualitative and quantitative data to form strategic insights
Convey findings in a cohesive story, including summarizing analytic insights, identifying next steps, & developing implementation plans
Coach direct report caregivers on providing critical decision support to key business questions
Shepherd key market-level data processes, e.g. provider needs assessments,
Serve as subject matter expert on Integrated Delivery Network data assets for North Division, e.g. inpatient data, payer data, bed data, etc.
Assess and manage the lifecycle of existing data assets and acquire new data assets as needed
Provide input into the Analytics Center of Excellence development of organizational data assets, dashboard, and reporting tools
Work collaboratively within team and across organization
Effectively communicate with all levels of management
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Business, math, statistics, or another area of specialization that supports the foundation of data management, analytics, reporting, and strategic planning
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Hospital Administration, and/or Public Health (preferred)
5 years of leadership specific to health care strategy and analytics, with demonstrated increasing responsibility
3 years of management consulting / corporate finance / corporate strategy department
Located in/around the Seattle, WA area (preferred)
Must have demonstrated the ability to conduct customer research, competitive research, financial and cost analysis and develop business plans with full proformas
Must have demonstrated ability to assess current and future trends and assimilate them into business cases or strategic recommendations
Must have demonstrated the ability to contribute to an interdisciplinary team and lead a team
