Summary:
Performs engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments. Responsibilities are within the Engineering Function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines. Performs test development engineering in support of contracted programs, B&P activities, and IRAD efforts. This includes technical input for the generation of test plans, test procedures, and test readiness reviews. Will work with program teams and operations to conduct tests and documentation of post test actions. Initiates the design, development, execution and implementation of technology research projects. Investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products. Plans and executes applied research.
Major Position Responsibilities
Applies standard engineering techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair, or improve products, components, or assemblies
Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems
Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects
Designs and drafts blueprints, visits systems in the field and manages projects
Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment
Basic Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Vocational/Technical training degree
OR equivalent combination of relevent engineering education and/or experience
5-7 years experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Chemical engineering
Working understanding of basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts, with a working understanding of thermal and structural engineering concepts
Ability to oversee other functional areas in the accomplishment of hardware, planning and test tasks
Proficiency with CAD Systems, instrumentation and data acquisition equipment and print reading
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface
Must be able to possess strong, planning, execution and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to re-prioritize on the fly
Ability to translate general customer requirements into products, specific requirements and program elements
Position requires a high degree of analytical aptitude with strong problem solving skills
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of complex tasks
Looks for ways to improve and promote quality
Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines
Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety
Operates under minimal direction and exercises moderate to independent judgment

Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools

Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of time

Pay Range (USD)
Note: The compensation information listed is a good faith estimate range for this position, it is estimated based on what a successful applicant might be paid: $85,732.50 - $159,217.50
