Excavator Operator Job Summary
FloHawks is looking for an Excavator Operator to perform multiple task investigating septic drain fields, water line replacements and sewer repairs. Our ideal candidate has completed a relevant apprenticeship, but we consider all individuals possessing the appropriate skillset. You must be able to coordinate and collaborate with other workers and supervisors on-site, so clear communication skills are crucial. You should have the skills to operate most pieces of excavation equipment, such as a mini track excavator. Trucking experience, including experience with both driving and loading and unloading materials, is also a plus.
Excavator Operator Duties and Responsibilities
Follow all OSHA and FloHawks safety guidelines
Load and unload excavator in the appropriate area
Avoid damage to customers property
Coordinate with other workers to determine dig sites and drain field locations
Insure completion of the job in a timely manner
Excavate, troubleshoot and repair septic systems.
Instruct laborer on assigned duties
Conduct routine maintenance on your equipment
Excavator Operator Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED certificate
Pierce County O&M specialists licensed or pass the O&M Specialists exam within 6 months
Knowledge of basic septic installation rules and guidelines
Read and understand septic diagrams (Asbuilts)
Knowledge of Septic operations (how they work)
Basic plumbing knowledge
Vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance experience
CDL class A or Bpreferred
Communication skills
