Summary: Maintains a clear focus on care and services to patients, families, and staff, by incorporating the Mission and Vision of Coulee Medical Center at the core of their activities. The incumbent is responsible for performing routine duties as directed by the Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Establishes and maintains healthy working relationships with staff, physicians, management, vendors, and other internal and external customers.
- Functions consistently as a team player

- Consistently participates in departmental and interdepartmental activities.
- Consistently responds to the needs and concerns of patients, families, staff and visitors
- Preforms all tests used in treatment and diagnosis of disease.
- Participate in testing of proficiency samples
- Continue with 5 hours of educational thru programs provided by the laboratory for phlebotomy.
Other duties as assigned by Lab Manager

- Specimen collection by phlebotomy and will get MA-R for throat and NP collection
- Specimen processing, including reference laboratory and data entry
- Report receiving, routing, and filing
- Answers phone, communicate with team members regarding messages and lab orders.
- Urinalysis Controls when assign by tech
- Other tasks as assigned by laboratory manager
- File accurately
- LIS system
- Registration for ancillary departments
- Provides a consistent line of communication with other departments.
- Identifies safety concerns and reports these issues

Education/Experience: High School Graduate
Certificates and Licenses: Able to acquire State of Washington Medical Assistant license for venipuncture within 90 days of hire date and MA-R for throat and NP collection. BLS certification required.
Language Ability: English
Math Ability: Dilutions, ratio’s, means, SD, and various calculations.
Interpersonal Skills: Commutates will with others
Computer/Technical Skills: Basic, Windows, Excel, E-mail, Word and will learn LIS program

- Frequent talking, hearing; see to interact with staff and vendors.
- Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
