Summary:The Registered Nurse (RN) supports the patient care cycle by providing compassionate patient centered quality care to Coulee Medical Center patients and family members. This position possesses the requisite skills to work quickly and efficiently in at times a stressful environment while balancing and addressing patient concerns; acts as a patient advocate explaining procedures and relaying expectations while gathering pertinent information to assist the provider in determining care. Concurrently this position works as an advocate for quality and patient safety by thoroughly documenting the patient visit in a manner consistent with current standards of care. The RN is expected to keep abreast of new developments in their field. The RN recognizes the role and participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team; supervising care given by LPNs, HCAs, NACs and non-licensed personnel while working towards attaining the goal of meeting the patient’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in a dignified manner consistent with the Mission and Vision of Coulee Medical Center.

Competencies/Abilities:
- Accurately and promptly implements physician’s orders.
- Develops and implements an ongoing plan of nursing care and makes appropriate documentation on the care plan.
- Applies basic teaching/learning concepts to patient education.
- Is resourceful and calm in emergency situations
- Provide care by utilizing nursing processes in collaboration with other members of the team
- In the course of providing direct patient care, be accountable for documenting all aspects of care in accordance with CMC guidelines
- Demonstrate excellent technical skills and judgment, and competency in administering medications, I-V’s and treatments safely
- Transcribe and implement physicians’ orders accurately
- Responsible for general medical patient flow to practitioners
- Assist in minor procedures as directed by practitioners
- Attend in-house and community meetings relative to role
- Call prescriptions to pharmacies and documents in patient’s chart, per medical providers order
- Demonstrate use of computer programs necessary to perform job functions effectively

Qualifications:
Education/Experience: Valid and current RN Washington State License
Certificates and Licenses:
- Current BLS Certification
- ACLS, NRP, & PALS/ENPC Certification Required
- If not certified, certification will be obtained within one year of hire date
- All certifications will be maintained current throughout length of employment with Coulee Medical Center.
- Agency staff must have current BLS and ACLS certification, NRP and PALS/ENPC certification is preferred.
Language Ability:
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Skills: Basic computer knowledge.
