Job DescriptionLab Services Admin 5 (Sr. Lab Administrator - Grade 7)
A Senior Lab Administrator (Sr. Admin) is a highly experienced caretaker of the labs who will be expected to:
- close a large number of complex tickets without help or supervision
- be responsible for entire lab(s) or projects related to lab infrastructure, moves, migrations, etc
- run the backend services of the lab, understanding the systems that support lab users and administrators alike
- assign tasks to other team members and lead the project from the front
- provide help, advice and mentoring to other team members
Duties:
A strong knowledge of the following is required:
UNIX (FreeBSD)
Linux (RHEL/CentOS)
VMware ESX administration
PERL/Python
TCP/IP
Run the lab without any help from the team, except perhaps management
Make design decisions that affect all of the Lab Management team, including teams in other theaters
Build tools and systems that make work more efficient for the rest of the team
Work with other departments (like IT) to develop Juniper wide infrastructure solutions for difficult challenges
Installation of network and/or computer equipment
Software re-installation of lab devices
Adding new devices to our database system
Troubleshooting and replacing of broken hardware
Building or changing topologies between devices, and documenting the changes
Building and deploying Virtual Machines (using Openstack/Contrail or ESX vCenter)
Experience in assigning task to other admins and lead the project from the front.
Several (10+) years of experience within the labs is required to be considered for such a position.
Certifications are plus:
Red Hat Certified Engineer
Juniper Networks Certified Associate
Juniper Networks Certified Specialist
VMWare Certified Associate
VMware Certified Professional
The data center will be 24/7 and will be staffed round the clock. This is a night shift position.
Education: Bachelor degree or equivalent.
Minimum Salary: $95,700.00
Maximum Salary:$146,740.00
The pay range for this position is expected to be between $95,700.00 and $146,740.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Juniper's pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
