T-Mobile USA, Inc. seeks Principal Architects, Solutions in Bellevue, WA to be responsible for the E2E architectural design of sophisticated and strategic customer-facing web and native phone applications. Develop infrastructure to provide detailed design of systems. Perform assessments and code reviews, coach other engineers, detail and evolve coding standards and best practices, perform data modelling, participate in advanced troubleshooting of production and pre-production systems, and author frameworks and utilities. Interact with senior management to effect solutions for domain architecture. Proactively build relationships to influence business and functional priorities and align domain technical solutions and roadmaps. Evaluate new and existing technology options that support business goals. Execute high-profile projects and provide thought leadership, assess critical paths, and drive implementation. Define and ensure alignment and execution of domain strategy and ensure implementation is handed to other Dev Op team members to implement and follow patterns. Define an architecture that optimizes for flexibility, re-use, scalability, performance, and availability within the domain. Partner with dependent domain architects to ensure architecture is aligned with upstream and downstream systems. Review and identify the gaps in the architecture and solution designs, assess, and define remediation efforts or mitigation options. Create practical solutions considering all teams, initiatives, and long-term goals. Create and implement complex decisions aimed at improving the quality, effectiveness, and ability to achieve revenue, profitability, and strategic goals for the organization. Lead the overall technical design and end-to-end solution design for assigned initiatives. Ensure quality, consistency, and alignment of designs to business standards and digital strategy. Lead the technical design process for applicable cross domain initiatives. Balance constraints in IT, business, and delivery to deliver optimal architecture for an initiative. Lead design orchestration on large-sized initiatives or work streams. Provide input into the definition of Digital Architecture standards as they are created. Own technical solution on cross domain initiatives, develop innovative solutions and technology strategy, and own E2E solution design strategy across teams. Prepare and maintain design deliverables that include architecture diagrams, data models, and API and micro-service architecture. Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance. Experience and education requirements: PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science or related or its foreign equivalent, and 5 years of relevant work experience. ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related or its foreign equivalent, and 7 years of relevant work experience. In addition, the following skills are required: (1) Developing Cloud Native applications using AWS EC2, RDS, and networking and security; (2) Applying Microservices architecture to the design and development of RESTful APIs and GraphQL, utilizing caching methodologies (distributed caching, database caching) and deployment methodologies (Blue Green deployment, Canary deployment), and designing for containerized workflows in Kubernetes, mesos/marathon; (3) Designing and developing user interface and associated API orchestration solutions on AWS cloud; (4) Defining architecture that optimizes for flexibility, re-use, scalability, performance, and availability within the domain using Microservice Architecture on AWS cloud; and (5) Leading large cross-domain initiatives supported by E2E Design and E2E Architecture, applying digital standards to project Solution Architecture, and driving Technical Strategy and architectural tradeoff discussions. Washington Pay Range: $182,312 to $187,312/year. The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience.
