Job DescriptionQualifications:
Civil Engineer:
1) Applying engineering, theories, principles, practices, and techniques to plan, design, layout, construct and maintain a wide range of structures and facilities;
2) Preparing project specifications and cost estimates;
3) Reviewing plans and specifications for accuracy and conformance with contractual requirements; and
4) Providing technical solutions for unforeseen problems during construction.
Electrical Engineer:
1) Applies electrical engineering practices and procedures when following design parameters and following project justifications and specifications;
2) Uses technical writing sufficient to document solutions to problems with methods of installation of material, and quality of materials to be installed;
3) Applies electrical engineering requirements to costs, system capability, customer requirements, and available technology into design projects.
Fire Protection Engineer:
1) Analyzing/designing fire protection systems for a variety of facilities.
2) Interpreting/Applying codes, standards, regulations and policies such as Building and Fire codes;
3) Preparing/Reviewing outlines of services, scopes of work, construction estimates, and engineering fee estimates for Architect-Engineer contracts; and 4) Preparing/Reviewing calculations, cost estimates, project documents, reports, and designs for technical adequacy and engineering practice.
Mechanical Engineer:
1) Modifying standard practices and adapting techniques to solve a variety of problems of engineering programs in relation to facilities engineering, public works management, and construction commissioning;
2) Providing a full range of engineering duties to accurately determine the conditions of shore facilities and the requirements for maintenance, repair, alteration, construction, or replacement;
3) Planning, budgeting, and monitoring large scale construction projects to ensure compliance with objectives, standards, and requirements;
4) Reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and engineering drawings to prepare reports utilizing software (i.e. AutoCAD, MAXIMO, Specs Intact, Cost Works, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint);
5) Preparing architectural and engineering (A-E) statements of work, to include project time schedules, cost estimates, drawings and specification while ensuring compliance with project objectives;
6) Serving as technical consultant concerning facilities planning, design, construction, and maintenance to resolve controversial issues based on sound economic analysis while applying excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Structural Engineer:
1) Using advanced concepts, principles, and practices in engineering/architecture to enable incumbent to serve as an expert in the complex multiple engineering areas of consultation, design, and construction;
2) Performing structural project development and design;
3) Preparing project specifications and cost estimates;
4) Utilizing computers for design, drafting and preparation on calculations and structural engineering drawings.
